QUOTES

“And I think it's extremely limiting to boil someone down to, you know, what TV show do they watch? Where do they shop? And you know, what color the skin is what you haven't talked about, what values do they hold? What do they support, even if that maybe isn't, you know who or what they are, what matters to them. You haven't touched any of the psychographics. What is it that kind of unites these people? What, maybe what do they all believe in? What do they all support. And I have yet to have ever considered who an ideal client is from a point of view of what is it that makes you are similar or different beyond your hair texture, your skin tone, your age, your gender, your sex, things that are just societal indicators and takes.“

“I feel like this whole thing got started because we both have like a visceral like bodily response to the idea of doing ideal client avatar profiles, whatever you want to call it. But when we started talking about it on a previous podcast episode, and then which one it was slipping my mind now like I just cringed, and I was like, this is a thing. And then I realized that different industries call it different things. And some industries, it's called an avatar and others it's called a profile. All of it reminds me of racial profiling, like from a standpoint of like, you've literally broken somebody down to how much money they make, what city they live in, what gender they are, like, you have looked at all of the things that have absolutely nothing to do what was inside somebody and what values they have.”
